First and Second leg of the journey done!

Well we've made it to Ft. Walton Beach. 7 Hours from Orlando, 6 Hours from Shreveport. This is the literal halfway point in our journey just to get there. I'm nervous and excited to meet our Actors for the first time on Monday, and to meet Chris Lyon from the Louisiana Film Prize on Sunday night. I'm sure we'll hit it off just fine, after all we've talked on the phone quite a bit.

So our journey began this morning at 7 a.m. We packed up the car, that is, Ryan and I, and set off. We gassed up the car and drove for four hours straight. We made it to Tallahassee and had lunch before picking up Kim and Lauren, my Co-Director and Production Designer, respectively.

We drove another 3 hours and made it to Ft. Walton Beach. After 7 hours, we decided to go out to the beach and relax a bit before finishing the trip tomorrow.

Before we did that, Kim and Lauren ran me through Costuming for the actors, we reviewed our shooting schedule, looked over the storyboard, and ran through props for each location.

We finished off the day with a quick meal and then some down time. We're working hard, but having a bit of down time is a must. Ryan serenaded us with a song on his guitar in the meantime. We'll put him to work yet!

Tomorrow is a long drive, so I'm going to bed. Thanks for reading!
